In 1998, Jimmy Vasser Chevrolet was formed to enjoy and establish a track record of excellence with our customers and employees. It is the intention of Jimmy Vasser Chevrolet to continue to grow in and with the Napa area and to provide our customers with the highest level of quality and service.
Jimmy Vasser, Jr., a native of the San Francisco bay area, has been involved in the automotive industry for the most of his life. In addition to his experience in the wholesale and retail aspects of the automotive business. Jimmy has a keen interest in vehicle restoration. It is as a race driver, however, where Jimmy has made his greatest impact. Starting at an early age, with the guidance of his father, Jim Vasser, Sr. (see below), Jimmy achieved great success at every level of motorsports.
After making his way up through the various levels of racing including Quarter Midget, Corvette Challenge and Formula Atlantic, Jimmy became a full-time CART Indy-Car driver in 1992.
After successful Indy-Car seasons in 93, 94, & 95; 1996 saw Jimmy reach the pinnacle of American motorsports when he became the CART/PPG Indy-Car Champion. Jimmy brings the determination and work ethic he has exhibited throughout his racing career to Jimmy Vasser Chevrolet with the intention of making these dealerships models for others to emulate.
Jim Vasser, Sr., also has a lifetime background in the auto industry. In addition to over twenty years experience in automotive wholesale and retail, Jim has General Manager experience after holding that position at a Jeep AMC store in San Jose. His lifetime love of cars, from racecars to rods, has resulted in Jim restoring a number of award winning show cars. Jim won the 1974 World's Most Beautiful Roadster award at the Oakland Grand National Roadster show. As you already have read, Jim was also very instrumental in developing the racing career of his youngest son, Jimmy. Jim brings a wealth of experience in a number of areas to Jimmy Vasser Chevrolet . Jim's philosophy is based on treating others the way you wish to be treated. He feels that the key to building long-term customer relationships (and loyalty) is creating business that is fair to the customer and to the dealership.
