Jimmy Vasser, Jr., a San Francisco Bay Area native, has spent most of his life in the automotive industry. While he has experience in both wholesale and retail automotive operations, he is best known for his accomplishments in professional racing. Beginning in Quarter Midgets under the guidance of his father, Jim Vasser, Sr., Jimmy advanced through Corvette Challenge and Formula Atlantic before becoming a full-time CART Indy-Car driver in 1992. In 1996, he reached the pinnacle of American motorsports by winning the CART/PPG Indy-Car Championship. That same drive for excellence, preparation, and performance defines Jimmy Vasser Chevrolet today. Our dealership operates with the same competitive spirit and attention to detail that championship racing demands — always striving to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
A Family Foundation of Automotive Excellence
Jim Vasser, Sr. brings over two decades of automotive wholesale and retail experience, including time as General Manager of a Jeep AMC dealership in San Jose. A lifelong automotive enthusiast, he has restored numerous award-winning show cars, including earning the prestigious 1974 World’s Most Beautiful Roadster award at the Oakland Grand National Roadster Show.
